ThinkTel earns distinction and market leadership through demonstrated technology success and customer commitment.
ThinkTel Communications, a division of Distributel Communications Limited, today announced it has attained a Gold Communication competency and a Silver Hosting competency, demonstrating a “best-in-class” ability and commitment to meet Microsoft Corp. customers’ evolving needs in today’s dynamic business environment and distinguishing itself within the top 1 percent of Microsoft’s partner ecosystem. A portfolio of competencies showcases that ThinkTel is committed to focusing on in-demand, business solution areas, along with ensuring it can meet the evolving needs of customers because of market changes.
To earn a Microsoft competency, partners must successfully complete exams (resulting in Microsoft Certified Professionals) to prove their level of technology expertise and, for gold competencies, designate these certified professionals uniquely to one Microsoft competency, ensuring a certain level of staffing capacity. Partners must also submit customer references that demonstrate successful projects and pass technology and/or sales assessments. For gold competencies, partners must also implement a yearly customer satisfaction study and, for many competencies, meet a revenue commitment.
ThinkTel has been a member of the Microsoft Partner Network since 2008. In 2009, ThinkTel joined the TAP program and quickly became the first qualified company to deliver full voice services to OCS R2. Since then, the Edmonton-based national telecom provider has been a true evangelist of Microsoft Lync 2010, deploying, managing and voice-enabling Lync for customers across Canada. With its range of hosted multi-tenant and private cloud Lync offerings as well as SIP Trunking for on-premise deployments, all backed by a national CLEC footprint in over 1000 cities across Canada, ThinkTel continues to set itself apart as a leader in unified communications.
“With 7 offices across Canada as well as remote workers, we can testify first-hand to the impact Lync has on productivity and ultimately, the bottom line. Achieving the Gold Communication competency status sets the stage for us to accelerate our Lync-based voice solutions practice and embrace the corporate trend to retire legacy PBX systems in favour of SIP and Unified Communications,” said ThinkTel CEO Dave Damer.
“By achieving a portfolio of competencies, partners demonstrate deep expertise and consistent capability on the latest Microsoft technology,” said Jon Roskill, corporate vice president, Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft Corp. “These partners show true commitment to meeting customer technology needs today and into the future.”
All 28 Microsoft technology competencies differentiate a partner’s specific technology capabilities, helping customers find qualified solution providers with expertise in discrete areas quickly and easily.
